About this event
Join us as we welcome author Mindy McGinnis, whose novels have earned a devoted following among teen and adult readers alike for their honesty, tension, and complicated, but resilient, characters. The author discusses her research for writing Under This Red Rock, a murder mystery set in the cavern systems of Ohio that explores themes of mental illness, examining the often misunderstood behavior patterns of those who struggle. The program is highly focused on erasing the stigma of mental illness and the importance of speaking out about mental health, as the author shares her own battles with depression and anxiety, as well as how they informed her process while working on the novel. Book copies will be available for purchase and signing.
