SUMMARY:Wildlife Track & Sign Scavenger Hunt | Eagle Creek
LOCATION:EC - Ornithology Center\, 6515 Delong Road\, Indianapolis\, IN 462
 78
GEO:39.872214;-86.297068
DESCRIPTION:Join OC Assistant Manager Donna (Level II Certified Cybertracke
r North America) and Professional Wildlife Tracker\, Sandy Reed\, for a Tr
ack and Sign Scavenger Hunt! This activity is designed for ages 12+\, acco
mpanied by their guardian. Get ready to head outdoors for a fun and engagi
ng exploration of the water’s edge as we search for wildlife tracks and
sign! No previous experience or knowledge is necessary. All you need is a
willingness to observe\, ask questions\, and make your best guess about wh
at we find. Along the way\, we may encounter all kinds of animal sign\, in
 cluding tracks\, nests\, chews\, scat\, beds\, feathers\, bones\, and othe
r clues left behind by wildlife. When we discover a mystery\, everyone wil
l have a chance to make their own identification before we work together t
o solve it. We’ll then take a closer look at the evidence and learn how
to accurately identify the track or sign\, giving you skills you can use o
n your own in the future. Please dress appropriately for the weather and b
e prepared to encounter mud\, water\, and uneven terrain. By the end of th
e activity\, you’ll have a better understanding of how to read the lands
cape and a whole new appreciation for the wildlife living around us! Locat
ion along Eagle Creek or inside the park\, TBD depending on weather\, terr
ain conditions\, and tracking substrate. Location will be shared with regi
stered participants prior to the date.\n\nListed by Indy Parks & Recreatio
