SUMMARY:First Chapter Friday - Ben Yokoyama and the Cookie of Doom
LOCATION:450 South Jefferson Street\, Brownsburg\, IN 46112
GEO:39.836607;-86.397034
DESCRIPTION:Join us for First Chapter Fridays! We will read the first few c
hapters of a different book every month and then do fun activities based o
n that book! Participants will have an opportunity to check out the book o
r place a hold on it at the end of the Program. This month's book is "Ben
Yokoyama and the Cookie of Doom\," by Matthew Swanson. Live each day as if
it were your last. When Ben reads his fortune-cookie fortune\, he's alarm
ed and inspired. Immediately\, he begins drafting a bucket list of unfinis
hed tasks and lifelong dreams (finish his 1000-piece model of the Taj Maha
l\, eat an entire cake\, etc....). As Ben marches himself in and out of tr
ouble\, takes useful risks\, and helps both his parents to see the bigger
picture\, readers discover how something that seems scary can instead be e
mpowering--leading to friendships that might never have been made\, neighb
ors that might never have been known\, and apple pies that might otherwise
never have been baked.\n\nListed by Brownsburg Public Library: https://bb
